Mesh shower/dispersion screen for Rancilio dispensing group heads, spreading hot water evenly over the coffee during extraction. Ref. 9.001.428. Replace when the mesh is clogged with limescale/residue and flow becomes uneven or crema poor.
The mesh shower screen (dispersion screen) fits inside the Rancilio dispensing group head, between the boiler/heat exchanger and the portafilter, and its job is to spread the hot water evenly over the ground coffee during extraction. Spare part reference 9.001.428.
Over time the mesh clogs with limescale and coffee residue: typical symptoms are slow or uneven flow, poor or missing crema, and a watery or off taste. If cleaning the group head doesn't solve the issue, replacing the shower screen is recommended.
