Small motor gear for the RGV New Pommy tomato press (exploded-view number 3, machine code 110230). It is the gear (pinion) keyed onto the motor shaft which, meshing with the driven gear, transmits the motion to the pressing unit through the gearbox.
It is a component subject to tooth wear: when the teeth wear or break the transmission "snatches", becomes noisy or stops. Replacing it (often together with the mating gear) restores smooth transmission.
