The knife-holder pin, brand Hudson mod. 22 (ref. HUDTRI0027) is the threaded pin that, in the grinding group of the meat mincer, mounts and holds the cross-shaped knife against the perforated plate. Screwed onto the auger shaft, it transmits rotation to the knife and ensures the correct cutting pressure: without a sound pin the knife spins idle, the cut becomes irregular and the meat tends to be crushed rather than minced.
This is a wear component: a stripped thread, a bent pin, excessive play or a damaged flange compromise the cut and call for replacement. Replacement is straightforward and restores the original mating geometry between knife and plate.
