Model 32 knife-holder pin/shaft for Artex meat grinders (also compatible with Berkel model 32).
This is the end shaft onto which the cutting knife and the perforated plates are fitted: the square-section end engages the auger and receives the rotary drive, while the threaded end takes the ring nut that clamps the knife-and-plate pack together. With wear the thread can become damaged or the square socket can widen, causing play, vibration or uneven mincing of the meat: in these cases the pin needs to be replaced.
