The copper tube provides good heat transmission but is prone to limescale build-up, which reduces efficiency and can cause overheating or failure of the element, resulting in insufficient water heating or the machine's thermal cutout tripping. Replace it when it no longer heats correctly, or if electrical leakage or a visible break in the tube is noticed.
