The complete blade guard fixing tie rod is the spare part that secures the blade guard to the slicer, keeping it firmly in position over the non-cutting edge of the blade. It is a safety component: the blade guard protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting edge during use, cleaning and maintenance, and the tie rod is what ensures it stays properly locked in place.

With use the tie rod can develop a stripped thread, play or deformation: when this happens the blade guard is no longer held reliably and the tie rod should be replaced to restore a secure fit and the machine's safety. Supplied complete, ready to fit in place of the worn part.
