It is time to replace the blade when the cut is no longer clean, slices come out uneven, or tearing and rough edges appear on the sliced product: these are the typical signs of a worn edge that ordinary sharpening can no longer correct. Before fitting, always check the 5 measurements listed above against those of the original blade fitted on your Berkel Premiere, to avoid compatibility errors. Once installed, extend the edge's life with regular sharpening, thorough cleaning after every use, and by avoiding impacts or dried product residue on the cutting surface.
