Blade-cover tie rod with micro switch for Swedlinghaus slicer (CE version, INC.T.V.). The tie rod is the threaded shaft that secures and holds the blade cover (blade guard) of the slicer in place; the “with micro” version also actuates the safety micro switch.
The micro switch is a safety device: it prevents the machine from starting when the blade cover is not in the closed position and stops the slicer if the tie rod / blade cover is removed. For this reason it is a safety-relevant component whose operation should always be checked.
Replace it when the thread is stripped, the shaft is bent, there is play, or when the blade cover no longer locks correctly or the micro switch no longer trips: in all these cases the protection of the blade's non-cutting edge and operator safety are compromised.
