This blade guard tie rod is the replacement part for securing the blade guard on Mistro 250 / 300 and General Machine gravity slicers. It is the threaded rod that, screwed into the hub behind the blade, holds the blade guard firmly in place: the guard that covers the non-cutting edge of the blade. Loosening the tie rod lets you remove the guard for thorough cleaning of the cutting area and the plate.

This version integrates the micro, the part that acts on the safety microswitch: it prevents the machine from starting when the blade guard is not fitted or not properly locked. This makes the tie rod a safety component as well as a functional one.

When to replace it: stripped or damaged thread, a guard that no longer locks firmly, a bent rod or play, or a malfunctioning micro (the machine starts with the guard removed, or fails to start even with the guard in place).
