The blade-cover disc for the 195 GL slicer is the guard (blade guard) that covers the non-cutting edge of the disc blade, leaving only the cutting edge exposed. It is a safety component: it shields the fingers from accidental contact with the cutting edge during slicing, cleaning and sharpening.

It is intended for gravity-feed slicers mod. 195 GL (195 mm blade series). On machines of this type the blade cover is fitted to the front of the blade and, once the front adjustment screw is removed, it can be taken off to allow thorough cleaning of the disc.

When to replace it: the blade cover should be changed when it is deformed, dented, cracked, or when the fastening no longer holds, since in these cases it no longer properly protects the blade edge and becomes a safety risk for the operator.
