The blade cover disc is the circular guard (blade guard) that covers the non-cutting edge and the rim of the slicer blade. It is a safety/anti-injury component: it shields the fingers from the cutting edge during cleaning and handling, and helps keep the blade assembly stable in use.
This disc fits bench slicers with a 250 mm blade (mod. 250 CE), in the brand/model versions MRR, Canova, Smart, Giotto.
When to replace it: the blade cover should be changed if it is bent, dented, cracked, or if the central fastening no longer tightens correctly. A damaged or loose blade cover exposes the blade edge and becomes a cutting hazard, and may cause vibration or play. Replacing it with an intact disc restores the original protection.
