Replacement abrasive wheel (coarse-grit emery) for sharpening the blade of AGW meat slicers and compatible sharpener assemblies. The coarse-grit emery is the "rear" wheel of the sharpener: it removes material aggressively and recreates the blade edge, forming the step on the front edge that the fine-grit wheel then removes during the deburring stage.
Dimensions (check against your sharpener before purchase):
- Diameter: 43 mm
- Thickness: 8 mm
- Centre hole: 6 mm
- Grit: coarse, for blade sharpening
Compatibility: AGW slicers and sharpener assemblies compatible with a Ø43 x 8 mm thick x 6 mm hole wheel. All three dimensions (diameter, thickness and centre hole) must exactly match those of the wheel fitted on your sharpener.
When to replace: the emery wheel should be changed when it is worn, chipped or glazed and no longer sharpens well. Signs of insufficient sharpening are uneven slices, scoring marks in the cut or blade slippage: in these cases, restore the edge and, if the wheel is worn, replace it. For optimal sharpening, the coarse-grit wheel is paired with the fine-grit one.
