The spray arm is the rotating component fitted above and/or below the rack: during the cycle it distributes pressurised wash water (with detergent) and then rinse water through the calibrated nozzles along the arm, ensuring even coverage of glasses, plates and dishware. Rotation is driven by the hydraulic thrust of the jets exiting the nozzles.
