This is the ribbed cone against which the lever presses the fruit to extract the juice: the large version is designed for bigger citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruits). As a food-contact part subject to wear, it should be replaced when the ribs are worn down, if it is cracked, or for hygiene reasons.
