(6) stator with thermal protection
Stator with built-in thermal protection for motors on Mignon-line graters: the bimetallic thermal protector cuts off power in the event of overheating and resets automatically once cooled down.
Replacement stator with built-in thermal protection, for motors on Mignon-line graters. This is the fixed part of the electric motor (the winding) fitted with a thermal protector that cuts off power in the event of overheating, before the winding burns out.
The built-in thermal protector is typically a normally-closed bimetallic contact: it opens electrically once the trip temperature is reached (usually around 130°C) and automatically resets once the motor has cooled down. It is wired with two leads to the electrical panel or the motor's start button.
Replace it when the motor overheats repeatedly, shuts itself off during use and only restarts once cold, or when the winding is burnt out.
