The flexible silicone edge scrapes the bowl walls during mixing, folding the mixture back in without needing to stop the machine to scrape by hand. It is suitable for normal to thick mixtures: cake batters, icings, biscuit dough and mashed potatoes. Replacement is needed when the silicone edge becomes hardened, cracked or detached from the metal support, reducing its scraping effectiveness.
