Safety shield between the hand and the blade during slicing: mandatory component, to be replaced if broken or missing. Hole centre distance 14.9 cm (measurement to check for compatibility). Specific to FAC/Swedlinghaus, not interchangeable with RGV models.

The gear transmits motion from the motor to the blade-holder hub, rotating the blade during cutting. The integrated shear-pin clutch is a mechanical safety device: in the event of a sudden jam or overload (for example an obstacle preventing blade rotation), it absorbs the shock, preventing the overload from reaching the motor or breaking the gear teeth, thereby protecting the whole transmission assembly.
Replace it when the teeth are stripped or broken, when the clutch no longer holds the load correctly (blade slipping or not turning smoothly), or when abnormal noise is heard during blade rotation.
