The transparency of the plexiglass allows the fill level to be checked visually during operation. The tray is linked to the machine's safety device (microswitch) which blocks access to the product outlet area when it is not correctly fitted, and it is removable for cleaning. It should be replaced when it is cracked, or scratched/clouded to the point of no longer guaranteeing visibility, or when it no longer correctly triggers the safety microswitch.
