The hand guard (finger guard) is the safety spare part for the Berkel Essentia Gravità BEG350 and BEG370 gravity-fed slicers. It is the plate mounted near the blade to prevent accidental finger contact with the cutting edge during use, sharpening and cleaning.

Replace it when it is bent, loose, corroded, or when the mounting point is missing or damaged: in these conditions it no longer guarantees the safety distance from the blade set by the manufacturer. Fitting requires removing the blade guard ring/cover and using the screws in the two holes spaced 117 mm apart.
