The reducer's gear set is one of the most stressed components of the mixer: it absorbs the torque delivered by the motor and transfers it, at reduced speed, to the working shaft. With intensive use the gear teeth wear down, causing abnormal noise, vibration, mechanical play or loss of power while mixing. When these symptoms appear, or if a tooth breaks, the gear set must be replaced to restore correct motion transmission and prevent damage to other components of the reducer.
This spare part is intended for maintenance and repair of the KitchenAid K5 stand mixer by service centers and users with mechanical technical skills.
