Safety shield between the hand and the blade during slicing: mandatory component, to be replaced if broken or missing. Hole centre distance 14.9 cm (measurement to check for compatibility). Specific to FAC/Swedlinghaus, not interchangeable with RGV models.

On gravity slicers, the product tray and blade are tilted at roughly 45°: this angle uses the product's own weight to make it slide toward the blade, reducing the operator's effort and giving a more even cut on cured meats, cheeses and other compact foods. The block firmly anchors the handle to the carriage in the correct inclined position, allowing the carriage to be pushed/pulled back and forth during cutting.
It should be replaced when the handle becomes loose, plays on its axis, or no longer holds its fixing, which compromises both safety and the precision of the carriage movement.
