Safety shield between the hand and the blade during slicing: mandatory component, to be replaced if broken or missing. Hole centre distance 14.9 cm (measurement to check for compatibility). The knob allows the softener cap to be opened and closed, the cap of the device that treats the dishwasher's supply water by reducing its hardness through salt-regenerated resins, preventing limescale and spotting on dishes. With repeated use the knob can wear, crack or lose grip on the cap's thread, making it difficult to open for topping up the salt. In these cases it must be replaced to continue ensuring a secure closure and proper maintenance of the softener.
