The filter retains seeds and skins during tomato pressing, separating them from the pulp exiting the duct; the duct adjustment screw lets you regulate outlet pressure and flow, affecting the consistency of the processed pulp.

The filter needs replacing when damaged, deformed, or when the pulp coming out is poorly filtered; the adjustment screw should be replaced when it no longer holds its set position or the thread is worn.
