The auger pushes the tomatoes along the attachment body against the conical filter, separating skin and seeds from the pulp and juice. It is the most stressed component of the attachment: replace it if you notice reduced juicing output, unusual noise or extra motor strain, worn threading, or a cracked/broken screw.
