The pressure switch controls the water level in the tank: an internal diaphragm senses the air/water pressure transmitted through the hose connected to the side fitting and, once the calibration threshold is reached, opens or closes the electrical contact that controls the water fill, signalling the control board when to stop or restart filling.
Replace it when the dishwasher no longer fills with water, keeps filling without stopping (risk of overflow), or when the water level in the tank no longer matches the set programme: these are typical signs of a punctured diaphragm or an oxidised or stuck electrical contact.
