The pressure switch is the sensor that detects the water level in the tub via the air pressure inside a small chamber connected to the dishwasher base: when pressure reaches the trip value (110) it opens the contact that stops the water fill, while the reset value (75) is the point at which the contact closes again for a new fill. A faulty or mis-calibrated pressure switch causes failure to fill with water, an overflowing tub, or ineffective washing due to insufficient water level.
