The pusher assembly is the arm that holds and guides the food during slicing, keeping it stable and protecting the operator thanks to the built-in finger guard. On Kelly slicers the arm has the characteristic ergonomic "swan" shape, with an aluminum pad and stainless steel pins. Replace it when the pressure mechanism no longer holds the food firmly, the arm is loose or damaged, or the finger guard is worn: conditions that affect both cutting quality and operator safety.
