In Frigomat batch freezers, the agitator is the part that rotates inside the freezing cylinder, scraping the walls and mixing the mix as it turns into ice cream. The centering cap is the component that supports and keeps the agitator shaft aligned with the cylinder, preventing vibration, rubbing and abnormal contact between the agitator and the cylinder walls during rotation.
- Application: Frigomat ice cream machine/batch freezer
- Function: centers and supports the agitator shaft
It should be replaced when worn, when the agitator shows play or abnormal vibration during churning, or when it no longer keeps the shaft properly aligned, a condition that can cause noise and premature wear of other components.
