The resistance is the heating element that, when current flows through it, heats the cooking plate up to working temperature. As a part subject to thermal wear, over time the resistive filament can degrade or fail: typical symptoms are the plate not heating, longer than normal warm-up times, or uneven cooking with colder spots. In these cases the resistance must be replaced with a spare part of equal power, voltage and dimensions, to ensure correct mechanical fit with the plate and consistent cooking performance.
The spare part is supplied already wired with connection cables, to make installation easier.
