The blade-cover tie rod mod. 22 G-R is the threaded rod that holds and locks the blade cover (the guard protecting the non-cutting edge of the blade) on the slicer. Tightened with the locking knob, it keeps the blade cover firmly in position during operation and unscrews to remove the guard and clean the cutting area.

This is a safety component: a tie rod with a stripped or bent thread, or a blade cover that no longer locks correctly, compromises the guard's hold and therefore operator safety. Replacing it restores proper fastening of the blade cover.
