This is the sharpener unit fitted to the ABO "vela" slicer to restore the blade edge: the two grinding wheels, a coarse one and a fine one, run along the rotating blade's edge, first removing the worn metal and then finishing the cutting edge. It should be replaced when the original unit is broken, the arm no longer slides correctly on its guide, or the wheels can no longer be adjusted, compromising an even sharpening of the blade. The 46 mm mounting centre distance determines its compatibility with the ABO "vela" slicer base.
