A tripped or faulty safety thermostat is one of the most frequent causes of an appliance that does not heat: if the heating elements stay cold even though the regulation thermostat and power supply work, this component should be checked. It must also be replaced when the capillary is sharply bent, crushed or punctured: the fluid-expansion circuit loses its charge and the device no longer trips at the correct temperature.
