The stainless steel auger (feed screw) is the rotating component inside the meat mincer that pushes the meat toward the perforated plate and knife, ensuring a steady mincing flow. It is a wear part: when worn, scored, or with excessive play in its housing, the mincer struggles to grind properly, the meat heats up from friction instead of being cleanly cut, and output drops noticeably. In these cases the auger needs to be replaced to restore the machine's original performance.
