The blade cover protects the non-cutting edge of the 275 mm blade: it is an essential safety component, preventing accidental contact with the cutting edge during use, cleaning and removal of the carriage.
Replace it when it is deformed, dented, cracked or no longer locks firmly onto the machine: a damaged blade cover, or one that does not engage correctly, compromises operator safety and should be restored immediately.
