The blade guard 300 is the protection that covers the non-cutting edge of the blade on the Fama gravity slicer model FA302 and FA303, fitted with a Ø 300 mm blade. It is a safety component: it covers the rear part of the blade edge, leaving only the cutting area exposed, reducing the risk of accidental contact during use, cleaning and sharpening.
It should be replaced when deformed, cracked or worn: a damaged blade guard no longer protects the blade edge correctly and compromises operator safety. This is the part identified as exploded-view number 57 in the Fama spare parts diagram.
