The brass magnetic sensor is a reed-effect safety component used to monitor the position of movable guards (covers, hand-guard shields) on slicers, meat mincers and mixers. It works on the principle of magnetic proximity contact: the sensor, fixed to the machine frame, detects the paired magnet mounted on the movable guard. When the guard is closed and the magnet is close to the sensor, the interlock circuit allows the machine to start; when the guard is opened, the sensor loses magnetic contact and stops the machine.

The thread allows direct installation into a tapped hole on the frame, with depth adjustment to correctly center the distance from the magnet. This is a safety-critical spare part: a faulty or misaligned sensor can prevent the machine from starting even with the guard closed or, more dangerously, allow it to run with the guard open. If the interlock system malfunctions, replace the sensor immediately.
