25 µF capacitor for single-phase electric motors of slicers and meat grinders. In single-phase motors the capacitor creates the phase shift needed to generate the rotating magnetic field: without it the motor develops no starting torque and cannot start on its own.

The capacitor is one of the most frequent causes of failure on these machines. Classic symptoms of a worn-out capacitor: the motor hums but does not start (and may start if the blade or auger is given a push), weak starting torque with the machine stalling as soon as it is loaded, slow start-ups, thermal protection tripping. With these symptoms, replacing the capacitor is the first thing to do — quick and cheap compared to overhauling the motor.
For replacement, choose a capacitor with the same µF rating printed on the body of the one fitted in the machine: this item replaces 25 µF capacitors.
