What it does. It is the gasket that runs along the edge of the chamber and seals when the lid closes: without an intact gasket the machine cannot pull a vacuum. The lip of the profile ensures an airtight seal against the plexiglass lid.
When to replace it. When the machine fails to reach vacuum or loses it, and the gasket is hardened, flattened, cut or cracked. It is a periodic wear part.
Compatibility and fitting. Favola chamber vacuum machines and all other compatible models with a seat for an 8x9 lipped profile. As it is sold by the metre, cut it to the perimeter of your chamber. Check the profile of the fitted gasket before purchasing.
