The set of shock-absorbing inserts (parastrappo) for gear d.5 mm is a spare part made up of 6 pieces designed to be fitted into the housings of the slicer's drive gear.
The parastrappo works as a flexible coupling: it cushions shocks and load impacts between the motor and the blade-carrying gear, protecting the gear teeth from sudden breakage during start-up or in case of accidental blade jamming.
Over time the elastic material of the parastrappo tends to wear out or harden, losing its shock-absorbing capacity: when this happens it is advisable to replace the whole set to restore proper protection of the gear.
