This is the perforated disc that closes the grinding unit: together with the knife it determines the final grind of the meat, which comes out finer or coarser depending on the hole diameter chosen, 12 or 14 mm. The single notch on the edge ensures the plate seats correctly in the model 22 mincer head. It should be replaced when the holes are worn, enlarged or have rounded edges, as this makes grinding uneven and causes the meat to be crushed rather than cleanly cut: in this case it is also worth checking, and if needed replacing, the matching knife, to keep the pairing between the two components working efficiently.
