Fama meat mincer mouth, model 12, cast iron, ref. F2117: this is the grinding head/body where the auger, knife, and perforated plate are fitted. Supplied without the auger.

• Material: food-grade cast iron — heavier than stainless steel, which reduces vibration and gives better resistance to deformation and wear under continuous workloads. This is why cast iron is the traditional material for professional grinding heads.
• Compatibility: Fama model 12 mincers.
• Alternative available: the same model 12 mouth is also available in a stainless steel version (ref. F2118), preferable when hygiene and corrosion resistance matter more than the extra sturdiness of cast iron.

Replace the mouth when it shows cracks, breakage, damaged threads, or excessive play that compromises the seal between auger, knife and plate — and therefore the quality of the mincing.
